When you check out the latest couture runway styles each season, it is so satisfying to see that real craftsmanship still exists…. and is taken to the extreme. Even more exciting this season is that there has been A LOT of craft used in ready-to-wear collections. So expect to see a bit of a series on some of the highlights (according to me at least!) over the next little while…
As many of you are heading into summer what better than these stunning high fashion crochet tote bags to inspire you, just in case a new bag is on your horizon…
YOUR LOOK: CLEAN AND SIMPLE
If you’re after some colour this stunning tote is from Tory Burch (available here). To be frank I am calling this crochet loosely because it looks more knotted to me, but if you’re not up to the price tag you could try something similar mixing some DCs and Trebles (UK terms) for a similar effect.
YOUR LOOK: CLASSIC
This simple but classic design from Straw Studios is available at Nordstrom (affordable!!). I love this simple update on a raffia tote and if you were feeling inspired this this guy, you could make any simple connected shapes as your main feature – stars would be very cute and maybe a little more modern. Simply make the body of your bag in Treble (UK term) and add your centre feature panel.
YOUR LOOK: A LITTLE BIT BOHO
Okay so this is more of an oldy but a goody!! This gorgeous Stella McCartney bag is no longer available, but as far as I’m concerned it’s not out of date. I LOVE the use of heavy bevelled chain on this guy. Ultimately it’s pretty simple with Trebles and appliquéd motifs – but wow is it effective!
Are there any other high fashion crochet totes that you’ve been eyeing up out there?
